Mobile phone penetration in rural areas in India has revolutionised information access as well as connectivity between people. While mobile phone is a boon in emergency times, it is also useful in getting real-time information related to their livelihoods Fisher Friend is a one stop application which acts as a decision support system for the fishermen folk in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Maharashtra, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.
The application helps fishermen by providing them real time information coupled with forecasts. Fishermen can know about height of waves, speed of wind, direction of wind and the intensity of rainfall based on which they can take decisions about whether they should venture into the sea or not. The application uses GPS to navigate within the allowed fishing zone coordinates, warn of impending dangers and for distress calls and alerts. The application is compatible with all android operated devices. Information is available in Tamil, Telugu and English. The application has installations with an average rating of on Google Play store.

Agri-mobile uses an offline app to impart information on agriculture and animal husbandry related subjects. It helps farmers with crop specific android mobile application.The information focusses on various crops and their nutrient or irrigational requirements. The application provides information regarding time and investment required for their yield with the predicted profit to provide and supplement decision making.
The application is not just content gathering but also supports pricing analytics and decision support system. All details and information are given through audio-visuals in English and state specific native regional languages. The app works without internet. It instead works on the MAC model which is most happening technology and brings Mobility, Analytics and Cloud together and gives it into the hands of farmer. The basic language of the app is English but information is also available in all regional languages where the app is working.

Farmer query system is an app which was developed and is functional in Bangladesh. The system is a mobile based ICT solution where farmers can put their queries directly to the experts, through a local infomediary. The infomediaries use a smart phone based application to collect the information on the problems faced by the farmers.
They then directly send the collected information and queries through the mobile phone to a central location. The agro experts can view the collected information on a web portal and respond to the queries placed by the farmers through phone call or SMS or through emails. Solutions are available for all English and Bengali speaking farmers. The application claims that since its inception, infomediaries have recorded 700 queries of the farmers and solutions of the same have been given at a real-time basis. The application can be used by farmers on all compatible mobile phones. Farmer query system has been installed by over people and has a rating of on google play store.

According to statistics from Google Play store there are only 50-100 users at the moment but the average rating is excellent at 5.0.
