General Guidelines (Nomination)
- There are no charges required to apply for mBillionth award Nomination process.
- The project shall fulfill the conditions of being an active & 6 months on-Ground project.
- There are 2 phases to complete the nomination form for mBillionth Award.
- 1st Phase:- One can submit their interest through short Nomination Form A. After successful submission of short Nomination form a unique ID shall be provided to the applicant on his/her provided email address.
- Using the Unique ID, Email ID (same as filled in Nomination form) & Password (as chosen by Applicant), one can complete their Nomination form B.
- Any applicant may edit/modify the details in the Nomination form till the last date of accepting the Nomination form. However, Nomination form will be considered as final after the last date & will be freezed.
- The mBillionth awards are open to any of the following in any SAARC countries.
- Governments
- Individuals/Students
- Entrepreneurs
- Industry (Private Sector Companies/Corporate)
- Academician and Academic institutions
- NGOs
- Interested entities can take part in mBillionth Awards by either applying online or contacting expert panel for the nomination process through mbillionth@defindia.net
- The fields marked mandatory in nomination forms are necessary to fill by the nominee.
- Every Nomination entry is required to submit a ‘Demo presentation‘ & ‘How to use-Video‘ with the nomination entry. The Jury may not consider your application without these mandatory attachments.
- Inclusion of a video regarding your project is a must to give a clear view of your work. It is not required to be a High Definition/Professional video.
- Every Applicant is required to send the Device/instrument (in case have extra specific technical requirements to use) for the purpose of Jury, to the mBillionth office before the last date of closing the nomination. The device will be returned back to the concern during the mBillionth Award 2012.
- The entry will not be considered if any nominee fails to submit the entire details of the nomination forms till the last date of registration.
- There is no limitation regarding the language, platforms, cost or channels the projects work with.
- One product can only be submitted for one category.
- All entries shall be real & implemented products. Pilot projects are not accepted.
- Any nomination entry is required to complete 6 months on-ground or should show convincing user base of its utilization.
- The same product cannot be submitted twice (i.e. submitted again). Also, the previous winners of mBillionth Awards shall not be considered for the same project again hence no need to apply.
- Irrespective of the product/project language, all producer and project information must be in English.
- Separate Nomination shall be made in case of multiple submissions by the same organisation, company or team.
- Any nomination form received after the last date of registration will not be entertained.
- Any partially filled/not filled registration form will be rejected.
- Any false information regarding the project in the nomination form will immediately disqualify the nominee.
- A Nominee is required to attach the following documents with the completed nomination form-
- Presentation (covering information about the project they have applied for) [Mandatory]
- Logo of the project [Mandatory]
- Video on the project [Mandatory]
- Letter of Acknowledgement/Letter of appreciation [if any] by any recognized entity
- Brief profile of Producer [optional]
- Screenshots
- The presentation about the project shall be informative enough to be considered for the final presentation at the time of Awards.
- All materials received during the judging process will remain confidential & will not be shared with any external entity without the consent of the concerned person.
- All the participants will be informed about the status of their application after the Jury process is over for mBillionth 2013.
- All the finalized entries are required to deliver a presentation on their product/project at the main event day.
Evaluation Criteria
Submission forms must be filled out entirely. Judging will be scored on:
- Content & Services- Quantify the quality of content and services delivery, relevance of content and its utility value
- Impact & Sustainability- The social impact & the commercial viability of the application/product.
- Functionality/Navigation- User friendliness & interactive nature of the application & its features.
- Interface & Visual Design-Usability as well as the Design of applications and devices having larger user preference, aesthetic value with multimedia.
- USP & Strategic Value- Uniqueness of the idea & the easiness of Strategy replication.
- Execution & Implementation- Procedures of carrying out & executing the innovation, idea according to the Market demand.
- Accessibility- Cost effectiveness matching social and economic capital of different user groups with diverse needs in different income brackets.
- Overall Experience- The user base & overall use Experience with the application/content.
- [All Submissions for products/services MUST be on-ground. No ideas/Business plans are eligible in the mBillionth Award system.]
General Guidelines (Jury)
- The Digital Empowerment Foundation Organizers have the right to reject submission / entry without providing any further reason.
- The process of evaluation commences from the date of closing of nominations.
- The initial judging is through online review of the nominations by the Jury Panel.
- The Jurors Panel of the respective Award Categories has the right to modify the judging criteria to suit the respective Category in consultation with the Judging Chairman of the Awards.
- The Jurors Panels, in consultation with the award Chairman may transfer any nomination received to another Category, to ensure “best fit”.
- The decision of the Jury will be final and binding.
- Jury holds the right to contact any eligible nominee for their doubt/queries regarding the project.
- The Jurors panel reserves the right to declare ‘Not eligible’, if the nomination does not meet the standard.
- The final results will be announced during the Award Gala only.
General Guidelines (Event Registration & Exhibition space)
- An interested exhibitor shall register/book their exhibition space from 15th April 2013 onward.
- To book the exhibition space during the main event, register your interest through ‘MY STALL‘ reference form.
- Reservation of exhibition space is completely based on ‘First Come First Serve’ basis.
- Stalls are available in the standard size of 2X2. More space can be provided in on request & availability.
- For 2X2 sq. meter stall, charges are INR 40,000 for entire day Event.
- For further stall area, charges are applicable as INR 15,000 per sq. meter.
- To attend the event, any attendee is required to register his/her details through the link appear on the website from 1st May onwards.
- The Registration charges for one day event will be – INR 2500.
