mBillionth Award is a platform which explores the latent potential of mobile and telecom sector across 8 South Asian countries. It offers a conclusive exchange podium for developers, content creators, telcos & device players, to create a complete ecosystem where mobile can not only be seen as the fourth screen but also as a tool for empowerment, education, business & Infrastructure for the 21st century.
This year mBillionth Award is celebrating its 5th edition. In the course of 5 years, the mBillionth Award has turned into a pool of knowledge, innovations and strategic relationship. The nomination process is now reaching its closure date and we are soon going to enter into the evaluation phase. The last date for filing nominations is 05th May 2014.
Once the Nomination is over , we will start internal screening followed by the virtual jury & the Grand Jury process. This year we are holding the Grand jury in Kathmandu on 17th and 18th May 2014. The jury comprises of eminent experts from the private and public sector, industries and the academia, and is selected on their basis of their overall insight on the subjects and domain.
This year, we have received a few excellent nominations in health and Women & Children Category. We have received interesting mobile Apps like mSwasthya, Safetipin, Help Me and Cross the Hurdles. One of the best nominations we have received is mSwasthya from CDAC Mohali. mSwasthya is a first-of-its-kind healthcare mobile app store which has over 15 mobile apps on health, wellness and fitness targeting the young, the elderly, women and children.
We are hoping to receive many more interesting mobile applications by the end of this week.
