The Nepal Wireless project aims to bring the benefits of ICT and related services to all the rural and urban areas of Nepal. Its core areas are telemedicine and education. The Nepal Wireless network comprises of a number of applications including E-commerce through the internet, VOIP using SIP protocols, virtual-ATM service, video conferencing and hotel booking system. The rationale behind the creation of the network is to bridge the digital divide and to provide the benefits of ICT to people living in remote areas.
